is it legal to have more than one quarterback on the offense at once?

one of the QBs would have to be lined up as a RB/WR. Although i hate to use this example because of what happened Monday night, the Florida Gators use it a lot with Chris Leak at quarterback and Tim Tebow at running back.

what Florida did was that they would have Chris Leak under center and Tim Tebow line up as a RB. then, right before the snap, Chris Leak would walk away from under center and go run towards a WR spot and the ball would be directly snapped back to Tim Tebow.

so yes, it is totally legal.

Logically speaking there can only be one quarterback on offense at any one time. The game is played with one football hence one quarterback. If a Joe Montana, or Brett Favre, or Manning line up on the line of scrimmage then they are no longer quarterbacks they become whatever position they form in.

Well, first of all, you wouldnt really want to unless you were running some sort of a crazy trick play because generally pocket qbs are the most unathletic players on the offense. Sometimes even less athletic than the linemen. But if you really wanted to you could line an extra qb up anywhere and it would be legal.

Sure. Though for the most part, it's for trick plays or in the cases of specific players that can be either QB or another position (usually WR). The best examples are guys like Antwan Randle-El at WR, or how Florida was using Tim Tebow this season.

Yes. The Falcons recently brought both Matt Schaub and Michael Vick into the game at the same time. I didn't see the play, but I believe that Vick was lined up as a back.

Nope. The Seahawks just did it last week. They had Matt Hasselbeck in as QB and Seneca Wallace in as WR.

No, But you wouldn't want to unless you were running a throwback pass or something. But that would be giving your play away.
