He was a big conservative. He loathed the Wiemar Republic and the Bauhaus. Hitler and the Nazis established a government based on "traditional German values," or whatever that meant, because most of the Nazi philosophy is a mish-mosh of contradicting dogma anyway.
He saw the Jews as perpetrators in the decadence of the old Wiemar.
Even in the Nazi party itself, women had a limited commanding role, and acted as low-ranking officials at best, and simply supporters and tag-alongs at worst.
So yes, Hitler was definitely a Conservative.

That's an interesting question, but I don't think we can measure Hitler to today's liberals and conservative.
However, if you ask me to make the case, I would have to say he was a right wing conservative with a bunch of screws loose.
Hitler was not an atheist contrary to popular belief. He considered himself a Christian according to his autobiography Mein Kampf. His justifications for killing the jews were taken out of the bible.
Being that the the Religious Right Wing conservatives tend to align themselves with Christian beliefs, I'd have to say by todays sstandards he'd be a conservative. Especially, since he had no respect for an individuals rights and freedoms, just like our current president likes to wipe his behind with our constitution.

Neither. Fascism is not Liberal or Conservative. Trying to lump fascism with Liberalism or Conservatism is like trying to lump Marxism or Libertarianism with Liberalism or Conservatism.

Many conservatives accuse Hitler of being a leftist, on the grounds that his party was named "National Socialist." But socialism requires worker ownership and control of the means of production.
In Nazi Germany, private capitalist individuals owned the means of production, and they in turn were frequently controlled by the Nazi party and state. True socialism does not advocate such economic dictatorship -- it can only be democratic.
Hitler's other political beliefs place him almost always on the far right. He advocated racism over racial tolerance, eugenics over freedom of reproduction, merit over equality, competition over cooperation, power politics and militarism over pacifism, dictatorship over democracy, capitalism over Marxism, realism over idealism, nationalism over internationalism, exclusiveness over inclusiveness, common sense over theory or science, pragmatism over principle, and even held friendly relations with the Church, even though he was an atheist.
To most people, Hitler's beliefs belong to the extreme far right. For example, most conservatives believe in patriotism and a strong military; carry these beliefs far enough, and you arrive at Hitler's warring nationalism.
This association has long been something of an embarrassment to the far right. To deflect such criticism, conservatives have recently launched a counter-attack, claiming that Hitler was a socialist, and therefore belongs to the political left, not the right.
The primary basis for this claim is that Hitler was a National Socialist. The word "National" evokes the state, and the word "Socialist" openly identifies itself as such.

He would be a conservative, given his calls to return to traditional German values. But calling his conservative is as much a gross understatement as calling Lenin a liberal.
