I run a guild in the game world of warcraft. We have players in the guild from the age of around 8-9 up to the oldest at 66.

You can find some game demographic data here

Well, the stereotypical response is that everyone who plays games is kids.
This is not the truth of course, but it's something.
The average video game player at this point is 30 something years old.
But this is not all. I played my first game (or rather watched excitedly) when I was 3.
My grandmother recently got extremely into playing Dance Dance Revolution (at age 74).
I am currently 16.
In the end there is no set age range. Any person of any age can enjoy a good game. But the "average" I would say is probably 4-40. Yes, you hit it right on.

In my opinion there is no age range for videogames, it is all up to the youth inside you. But usually most people get tired of video games around the age of thirty. Me I got tired a while ago. :)
