I would list Valentine's Day in second place after christmas. People are willing to pay a lot of money for stuff that is generally cheaper in other days.

It really depends on the industry. I know Valentine's Day is reallly big for Hershey's and Hallmark. And Thanksgiving is definitely the biggest for food. I dont think mothers day would be as profitable though (sad isn't it?) So overall, I would say that Valentine Day would be it, if youre looking for one close to Christmas.

Halloween is the second biggest retail holiday (with all the candy, costumes, and spooky decorations), followed by Easter, Mother's Day, and Valentine's Day.

I think for gifts giving it is Valentine's Day. But as far as the greeting card industry it is Mother's Day. I think it is one of the busiest mail delivery day. The Friday before Mother's day is I mean.

Depends on for what, food, clothing, decorations, other. The next biggest holiday as far as total money spent, believe it or not, is Halloween. With the candy, costumes and decorations it is mind boggling, and getting bigger every year.
