No, Buffon is not a good keeper for saving penalties.
If you watch World Cup 1990, you know Goycochea from Argentina is the best goalkeeper for penalties saving.

In World Cup Quarter Final, he saved 2 goals from Brnovic and Hadzibegic from Yogoslavia and finally Argentina win 3-2 in penalty kick.

In World Cup Semi Final, he saved 2 goals from Donadoni and Serena from host Italy and finally Argentina win 4-3 in penalty kick.

He is the hero (beside Maradona) to bring Argentina to final against Germany.

So, Goycohea from Argentina is the BEST in penalties saving so far.

Of course is Jens Lehmann .
Example : Lehmann have dive to the right ways even cant save at Germany during the World Cup 2006 when vs Argentina and also in Arsenal during Champions League 2006 semi-final , Riquelme penalty save by Lehmann .

He's certainly not even close to being one of the best keepers in the world or anything. But in league competition Leo Franco for A. Madrid seems to have a very high percentage of penalty stops. And crazy-*** Jens Lehman seems to have a 6th sense about guessing right.

Jens Lehman of Germany and Arsenal made some key saves against Milan in the champions league last year against Sheva in the last min penalty and against Argentina in the shootout

Ricardo of Portugal had a brilliant performance against England

dudek has been superb at time in penalties and whole games as have others...but to name a keeper...no way...australia's schwartzer has been incredible at times...v uruguay...and dudek in the final was funny and amazing all at the same time...ricardo...dida-sometimes...the van dersar sometimes...your local keeper...the real answer is whoever is feeling it on the day...and also play the %'s and pick the taller keeper...dudek at 6-7 is taller than most(except 4 kalac from oz-even he was incredible on occasion)...dida is 6-6...

so my answer - directly is: dozens...

indiretly - but whoever is feeling it (good on the day and confident, and mobile-uninjured)...and probably the taller keeper overall (just for %'s overall-extra reach)...

any other answer is just opinion...unless they are using all the stats alltime...which is unlikely

ouuu i nealry 4got...whoever plays england...is the best penalty saver...lol...u know it's true
