I became a national merit semi-finalits from it and I would agree that one of the best thing to do is read several differnt books. The differnt perspectives are helpful and you can skip over stuff you already read. I especialy like Crackcing the sat. It offers some tips in a clearer way than other books. CD's are the absolute best though and help more than anything. I really like Kaplans. Look for something that looks fun and entertaining. Also..practicing from a couple of old books is good because sometimes the questions can be harder and you learn to go faster. Last, you should start to learn at least 5 new words a day. Your local library should have a book with common SAT words. Trust me, it helps so much! If you have the time also start reading the newspaper and keeping a journal. Try to take at least 3 practice tests before the actule test but don't overdo the practice tests otherwise you will get burnt out. I did the second time I took the sat. I wouldn't do more than 6 tests. Biggest and most importangt tip: DO NOT STUDY AT ALL THE DAY BEFORE THE TEST!!! Sleep, watch a movie, hang out. This isn't necesarily good, but a lot of students don't go to school the day before. I take college classes and I just happened to not have class the day before and I was defietly a lot sharper than my peers who had class.

You should try the SAT study book. They have them at the library. Also learn your prefixes and suffixes it will boost your reading score. Get a good nights sleep and eat a good breakfast with orange juice.
