It should have what is called an ASD relay (ASD stands for Auto Shut-Down), and it will also have a separate fuel pump relay.

It is possible that one of these has gone bad, and is a fairly easy thing to check. Under the hood, there is a relay/fuse block (it's rectangular in shape, hinged on one side and has a tab on the sides of the other end), unclip the tabs on the one end and lift the cover so you can see the relays. There should be a diagram on the cover telling you which relays do what.

The following relays are the same and can be interchanged:
horn, radiator fan, A/C clutch, fuel pump, ASD, starter, and front fog lamps (if equipped).

Take one of the non-essential relays (A/C, horn, fog lamp) that you know works and swap it with the ASD relay. If it works, then that's your problem, if not, try swapping the fuel pump relay.

If the fuel pump wire is linked, then it could fail without showing signs.Check and swat out relays with the same pin link to see if it engages the fuel pump. It could be faulty fuel pumps but I would find a wire that I knew had juice to it and try it, if the fuel pump worked, I'd start out where the fuel pump wire was live and check power (probing it every 3 or 4 inches) until it had no power then replace the wire and install a new wire that you know has power. Wire will separate if installed wrong. Good Luck

mark b"s answer is good. also the crank position sensor can cause this. no output to the ecm means no ground for the relays.
real good idea to swap the relays mark b. i always tell my customers to try that 1st....Also, no Dodge, Chrysler Jeep products use an inertia switch to kill the fuel pump

Fuel safety shut off should be in your trunk, and my husband also said to check the relays.
