There's a news column that is syndicated called "News of the Weird" by a guy named Chuck Shepherd. He always features stupid crimes. He also has a list of crimes that used to be uncommon, like guys stuck in chimneys trying to get in to rob a place, but that have become so common that the column no longer features them.
