It can educate, but it can also cause negative effects. It all depends what you're watching.

I don't think that T.V. makes people violent. American history has taught me that violence has been around much longer than T.V. I'll give you a couple of examples: World War I, The Civil War, The Battle of Bunker Hill, etc. I don't know about educating people, but, I guess it depends on what you watch.

I think it educates.

People who blame violence on TV/Movies are just looking for an excuse. But that's another discussion.
