I have had several bosses like this over the years. I think it makes them feel "good" to make you feel bad. That just proves that they have some serious personal issues. But what to do about it ? I had to sit down and tell one of my bosses how he was hurting my feelings by being smart-allecky with me and short and rude. Any time I tried to start a conversation with him, he would snub me and so then I just quit trying. He would have conversations with others in the office but not me and I told him about this and he made an effort to be better. He really tried and things got better for a while but they were never quite right and the company we worked for was all screwed up anyway. My boss's boss was a jerk to him sometimes and you would think my boss wouldn't want to continue this sort of behavior and pass it on to me, but he did. Well, good luck with your issues. I quit my job soon after my boss quit. The company sucked !!

Well, first off you have my sympathy. That is just plain BS on her part. SO.......
The next time she starts w/ this crap.........Have a conversation w/ her during a non work period of the day and approach her as follows....

Well Ms.btch, my position is very important to me and I enjoy my job and want to perform to the best of my abilities. To do this I willl need your help. Please provide me w/ the training I wil need to meet your expectations. Put together a set of guidelines for handling certain / various situations so I can address your concerns to your satisfaction. I guess as I see it, if she is always jumping you for this that or the other, then she needs to take the time to put down in writing a set of guidelines for you to operate from. If she doesn't do that, how can she expect you to perform in some specific manner!

PS - Maybe you should confront her in a professional way when you see her making mistakes, it could be a learning experience.

Well hate to say it but you need to move on and fine yourself a better job or try to relocate to a different place. No matter what you do in life dear your never gonna be happy and that can cause stress in your life and as a woman it takes tolls on us faster, especially if you hold it inside. So i say to you no matter how great the job is you can always find something better. Talk to one of the doctors see if they have openings with them and get the heck out of that kind of treatment...respect or no respect you should receive the same treatment as you give.

You do not have to take that kind of abuse from your boss. If it is that bad, then you need to move on. It's a possibility that is what she is wanting you to do anyways by the way she is treating you. Don't stay at a job if it doesn't make you happy to be there. You can do better.

Personally, I think the best way for you to resolve this issue is ask her for a meeting and behind closed doors, tell her how she makes you feel and ask her if there is something you need to do to improve to gain her confidence and trust. Honesty is the best policy, but you are right about not getting in her face about it. She will respect you for talking to her I think.
