If you mean converting between metric prefixes (i.e: millimeters to kilometers) then:
micro = 10^-6
milli = .001
centi = .01
deci = .1
deca = 10
hecto = 100
kilo = 1000
mega = 10^6

To convert, take your current prefix (say, 1 kilometer = 1000 meters) and divide by the new prefix (say, millimeters = .001 meters).
1000 / .001 = 1,000,000 millimeters.

Long form (to show why it works that way):
1000 meters / 1 kilometer / .001 meter / 1 millimeter

Convert to multiplication:
1000 meters / 1 kilometer * 1000 millimeters / meter
= 1,000,000 meter * millimeter / kilometer * meter

The meters cancel, leaving:
1,000,000 millimeter / 1 kilometer
