mp3rocket is the best program for downloading music for free, it's quick and easy. Limewire gave me a lot of problems with spyware and viruses on a lot of the songs. mp3 rocket moderators check the songs before they are posted. Limewire also basically screwed up my ipod and i had to get it fixed, i've been using mp3 rocket for about 2 years with no problems

Of course you CAN, but, legally, you aren't allowed. Limewire, Bearshare, Morpheus, etc. will all give you music for free, but, in this case, free = stealing. Check out Wikipedia's articles on the RIAA and Music Piracy.

let's look at it this way.

-Yahoo is a tax abiding entity
-The FBI uses tax abiding entities to help them track down illegal behavior
-Yahoo has on file in a large secure database all your personal information, your ISP, your IP, and your computer name.
- the RIAA contacts the FBI to get in touch with websites like this one, Yahoo, to get ahold of their user databases. then, they read through pages like this one, checking the user names of all of you kids who use lime wire. then, using the files they pulled from lime wire, they cross reference both databases, and they force you into poverty before your case even reaches the court system.

so, go ahead and download limewire, because, before you know the consequences, your name is on a list which will be flagged when you go to get a job in ten years. good luck
