Has anyone ever attended Mercersburg Academy. I just applied there the other day, and I was wondering if family legacy helps you get accepted. My grandfather, great-uncle, and aunt all attended.

Depends on how uptight the school is.
Where I live they have kind of low end private schools, masters academy, where mostly anyone with money can get in.

I attended webber academy, they never did backround checks but they're fairly new. They did want to know a lot about my grades, and what kind of student I was, even from grade one! They made me take a test to see if I could get in, blah blah blah.

Then there's strathcona academy, where they do give you brownie points if you have had past family members, plus marks, plus over all person that you are.

So look at Mercerburg Academy, is it a low end one which wants your money, middle one which does testing and wants your money, or high end one that wants the overall perfect student plus money.

I have nothing against private school, the time I spent there was fun. It's the whole money thing that ticks me off, when my parents actually showed me how much they payed for tuiton i was shocked. Its insane!!! But you get what you pay for right?

My guess, because your grandpa went there as well as your great uncle... that school is old and has a lot of history. I'm sure they'll more then welcome you into that school, as your grandfather or great uncle could have been one of the first students there.

i ve never been there but if you applied there and your family went there and they were good students, you'll probably have a higher chance of getting in but then they would expect a lot out of you
