I was 12....but I'm 21 now and it's still not regular. Like others have said, you've done the right thing by going to see your doctor. Perhaps a second opinoin might be helpful, or it could just be a matter of waiting.

I started when I was 16 years, 6 months. I had my driver's license before my period. The women in our family have always been "late bloomers."

Ask the women in your family when they started. Your period can also be delayed if you are very active. A lot of female athletes start their periods late.

Like Molly D said, everyone is different. Now it's probably a matter of just waiting.

I got mine when I was 11. I'm 13 now, but your just a late bloomer. Enjoy it while you can because periods SUCK. Don't worry about it, when your body is ready, it will come! =] Good luck

Sounds like you have already covered all your bases. Now you just need to be patient. Remember that everyone is different and their bodies function differently.

Your doing the right thing to see a doctor.
Do you have any discharge, breast growth, or pubic hair?
These are personal questions, but they are what leads to getting your first period.
