A person doesn't "give away" his personality. However, many aspects of a personality can change due to life's experiences & knowledge. For example you've probably heard the proverb "Pride goeth before the Fall." Ken Lay & Jeff Skilling were found guilty & imprisoned for fleecing their company. Most people would be humbled by this & it would affect their personality in a positive manner; they would be more compassionate.

I think people change their personality for a number a reasons. It could be be a combination of things, such as their work environment, are they trying to fit into a certain job mold?

If they they perceive themselves as stronger on one race side or the other? I am asian and white, and for many years I identified more strongly with my white side because most of my friends were white and my environment was mostly white.

Education can change too, I have african american friends who some people would call "oreo's" simply because they don't speak in ebonics or act 'ghetto'. Now whether it's because they have their college degrees or perhaps just like to speak proper english is beyond me.

Hope this helps a little.

I dont think the ethnicity is going to have anything to do with it, unless you are abondoning your own race. I think that a lack of self respect and ideals that are outrageous contribute. Did this person feel accepted or content with themselves.
Have you ever considered that they didnt like their previous attitude and outlook and decided to change it. We do still have the right to do that

:)
