The gestation period of a human is 40 weeks (though 42 weeks is still considered normal). 2 of those weeks are the week of your period and the week leading up to ovulation. Therefore, a baby takes (from conception to birth) between 38-40 weeks to develop. This is actually closer to 10 months than the usually mentioned 9.

Usually it's around 36 weeks (9 months) but it could depend on the baby and the person.

By the way everyone, a month is 4.33 weeks so 40 weeks does not really equal 10 months, its more like 9 and a bit, though it does equal 10 lunar months as a lunar month is 28 days. :-S

40 weeks which is ten months...the first week is the week of your period. If you conceive, you are technically pregnant for AT LEAST 38 weeks(9 1/2 months)
