if you won a contest and the prize was an hour of time to do anything you wanted to entertain the listeners what would you put in that show? what would your theme be? what issues would you discuss? what would you do different to keep people listening for a whole hour?

For college radio we spent two hours a week doing karaoke radio. I can't say that people were entertained out there in listener land but we sure were.

id play a bunch of 50s 60s rock. the theme would be 50s 60s rock id discuss rock from then and global warming

I like the blues so I would play some blues music interposed with some of what I think are my witty opinions on everything from immigrant labor, the war to humorous inter-sexual interactions culled from news stories.

I will share my experience with the listeners about being a teenager and helping troubled teens get their way through life. Guys who can't get dates, girls who are too shy to say anything, I'll let them know what's the high and low of socializing. ;)

play all songs no commercials.
and play the songs without the songs in the top 40.
just the others. so that the monotony of playing the "popular songs" now just stops...even for just an hour.

I would try to educate them on the Bush regime & the republican party in a way which would convince them & cut through all of the Fox News, Rush Limbaugh(the oxy addict who never went to jail), Dr. Phil, (who should find someone to tell him how to lose weight & not molest his patients), etc.

I'd wander through their arsenal of music to see if I could find one hour's worth of my favorites to listen to "commercial-free".

play heavy metal music and complain abount the faults of the government. and give discounts to petco for all you animal lovers out there.
