I was doing a stunt(where i'm up in the air) and i fell down and landed on my ankle. When i went to the hospital my doctor told me i had torn my tendens and my ligaments. I had also sprained my ankle. My ankle is still very swollen and it hurts. I can't point my toes and i can't jump very well. (all cheerleaders know that pointing toes and jumping is very important.) My competition is next saturday and it needs to be better by then so i can stunt, jump, and point my toes. Help me!

Im def not a cheerleader but i know about getting hurt from doing karate. I know that the competitions are important (my cousin does it) but if you are hurt still badly like that and it is all swolen and doesnt get much better by the day of the competition, i dont think u should do it. If you make it worse by being in the competition you are going to regret it because it can get worse. I had hurt my elbow when i was in karate and ignored it, it hurt everyday but i didnt want to be a baby about it. When i was working with my dad something happened and it popped. had to have surgery and blah blah blah. so i suggest you ice it for 20 min every hour or so and try to do some excercises with it, Try to slowly move your toes and move your ankle around in circle, slowly! i learned this from physical therapy. helped my arm but u ahve to give it time to heal!!! just be careful

Alternate between heat and cold applications... personally when i would get hurt from soccer, i wouldn't do anything for a day but maybe a few ankle or leg rotations so it didn't stiff up on me. the next day i would test it with different weights,... first supporting myself, then adding books in a backpack etc. eventually by day 3 i would be able to walk and run fine. Heat and Cold packs often tho... keeps the swelling down

I badly sprained my ankle about 3 weeks ago. I was in a hurry going down the stairs, lost my balance and landed on a bad side of my left foot, causing my left ankle to be stretched going on the inside. The first 48 hours were excruciating and the pain was un-believable. I've never had a serious ankle injury before.

So I immediately treated it using the RICE method. The following day, the bruising and swelling were so horrible. I found out that I got a second degree sprain and immediately panicked after that. I had a football game on that week and it been looking forward to it because I've been training for rt. I had teammates that had similar injuries and it took them months to fully recover, some of them stopped playing altogether. So I kinda had a short-term depression because I can't imagine myself not being able to run and play sports anymore.

Because I was so desperate to recover again, I contacted a lot of people that I know who do sports and asked them if they had similar injuries. One friend of mine, from the boy's football team in my university, told me about H.E.M. Ankle Rehab. I got a copy 4 days after I got injured. I immediately read and followed what was instructed and felt improvement on the first day. I was able to walk a bit, but I was in pain.

A couple of days after that, the swelling and bruising were subsid-ing significantly and on the fourth day, I was walking comfortably again. Although I've had felt a bit of stiffness, I continued doing what was instructed. My sister was surprised that I have recovered this fast. I told her about this book and was shocked on how effective the procedures were. I'm just so happy that this book was shared to me and how effective it is.

Heal your ankle fully & fast?

Ice it, and take advil. That will help with the swelling.
Heat it before you start exercising or cheering. You can also get an ankle brace to help support it.

ice and elevation and rest are the only treatments. You can wear a support bandage, but it will take days to heal
