Lorenzo Neal by far. Neal not only has paved the way for Lt's record setting season, he has blocked for nine straight 1,000 yard rushers.

The answer depends on what you're using to define one back being better than the other. From an offensive statistics standpoint, Alstott is one of the most productive fullbacks of all-time. However, from the standpoint of what fullbacks are fundamentally used for, blocking, Lorenzo Neal is one of the top blocking backs in the game today. If someone was to ask me which one I'd want on my team, I'd immediately respond Lorenzo Neal. He can block, and occasionally run or catch the football with limited success. Alstott, at this point is mostly a has-been, who will probably retire in the next year or two. Look for him to end up as a coach either at a high school, or as a position coach at Purdue (his alma mater)

Lorenzo Neal is a better fullbak than mike alstott. Mike alstott is better at running the football but that is not his job. Mike alstott is a very good fullback and good at blocking but lorenzo neal is better. Lorenzo Neal is much more expirienced than Mike Alstott.
Look at ladanian tomlinson and the things he has done this year and most of it is because of lorenzo neal.

I think Lorenzo Neal is now but I think Mike could be if he was utilized more.Let Mike get more involved in the offense and he could be a better assest. And Lorenzo Neal is 36 And Mike just turned 33.So Mike is younger.

Lorenzo Neal, he year in year out has blocked for LT and done a heck of a job at it. A great running back is only as good as the guys in front of him. Alstott is past his prime.

Mike Alstott has been a great FB. But he is getting older and his effectiveness has weakened.

Neal, is a great FB, but does not get to shine because he is behind LT. So I think Neal is better.

Statistics wise, though I believe last year Alstott looked more effective.
