I know the Saints are predicted to win....but by how much?


does it mean that the Saints have a 55% chance of winning?

I dont' understand the whole spread thing. I am not sure what I had predicted the score to be before so let me throw another one out there.

Did you mean Saints -5? Saints are favored. Those are not percentages, those are betting spreads/odds. Let's say that you placed a bet on Saints -5, then in order for you to win the bet, the Saints MUST win by more than 5 points. Eagles +5, here, they are the underdogs. If you placed a bet on Eagles +5, in order for you to win the bet, Eagles CANNOT LOSE to the Saints by more than 5 points.

Let's use the score that JC predicted (Saints 27 - Eagles 23). If you took Saints -5, you would've lost your bet. If you took Eagles +5, you would've won the bet, because eventhough the Eagles lost, the didn't lose by more than 5 points.

The -5 means the Eagles are favored to win by 5 points or more.
