Let x = length of one leg.
Then perimeter = x + x + 8 = 2X + 8
2x + 8 = 44
2x = 36
x = 18 = length of eac of the two equal sides.
Check: 8 + 18 + 18 = 44
44=44

Since two legs of an isosceles triangle are equal, you can set this up to be..

P = 2x - 8
44 = 2x - 8
2x = 52
x = 26.

Therefore the lengths of the legs are 26 cm, 26 cm, and 8 cm.
