There is no way you can become a teacher with only a two year degree. The only thing a two year degree does is give you the prerequisites you need to continue on in the education field. Some states require that you pass a test before you are even allowed to continue with the methods classes in education courses. A four year degree is all you should need to teach elementary or high school classes. If you wanted to teach college, you will need to obtain a Masters or Doctorate degree. The internship takes place during the last semester of your four year program. Usually the internship takes place in two separate schools, subjects, or grades depending on what your major is. However, remember that all the college in the world does not guarantee a job, you still have to pass licensing requirements with in your state which usually include taking special exam for what you are wanting to teach.

In Canada most teachers complete a four-year degree in the subject they want to teach. After that they can do a two-year Bachelor of Education program that includes student teaching. So, they go to school for six years. We do "internships" during our B.Ed program. Every program is different, but in my program in the first year we observe and teach mini-lessons for two days each week. In our second year we spend four days each week teaching a full course load.

You have to have a minimum of a Bachelor's Degree to be a teacher. As far as salaries, I really don't know, but I do know that you are paid according to your education. So a person with a Masters Degree will make more than a person with a Bachelors, etc.

It varies from state to state. My wife was required to start with a bacholer's degree and one semester internship. After receiving her license and getting a job, she was required to get a master's within 5 yrs. She' required to take classes every 5 yrs to keep up to date.
You'll probably start out well below $30k a year. After that it depends on your degree level and years of experience.

It depends on where you're going to school, so check with the education department of your school of choice to get the requirements.
