z571436> Only about 15% of the population. You statement is typical of s**t 4 brains Republicans. You fuss and cry because people are on welfare, then make wise cracks about people who barely make more than being on welfare.

Yo it's Me > Better a little something than nothing at all. And good intentions are better than intentions to exploit people to have a 4 car garage.

Maybe I am the answer to Ri's question. Judging by your comment I'd say that wood sealer would be the answer to your question, because you have your nose so far up the Neo's butts that you have to be Pinocchio.

It's about time the average working person in this country got more than starvation wages. I do not believe that $7+ an hour is enough. There should be a commitment by Congress to revisit the issue in a year or two to increase it by another dollar. In addition, each person who receives minimum wage must be able to prove their status as an American citizen or as a legal resident. With this in hand, we can ensure that each legal employee in America pays his/her fair share of taxes.

Yeah, they raised it to less than $15K a year and they didn't have the apples to do it all at once (they are phasing in over 2 years), yeah that's really going to improve the quality of life for a lot of people - but I guess good intentions/appearances are all that really matter to the Democrats.

PS Hey Ri, I think the answer to your question is "Bucky".

30 states already have minimum wages higher than the federal level. This is symbolic more than effective.

Looks like even most of the Neocons even voted for it. Maybe they voted for it knowing that Bush would veto it. After it makes its second pass to get two/thirds, they vote against it?

They really won't like this... but they can do nothing about it.
