It is NEVER OK to give a cutesy-poo wrong answer.
In a recent article in the Los Angeles Times, a man was given a 5-day sentence for giving a wise-guy answer to a judge during jury duty. A teacher does a student no favor by excusing wise-guy answers. These kinds of answers can get a person fired, ticketed, jailed or worse: beaten or killed if given at the wrong time, to the wrong person. If school isn't a place to practice behavior for the "real world" then no place is.
A teachers job is a solemn responsibility. Teachers aren't there to make friends or entertain. We are there to prepare the minds of tomorrow. Both previous answers mention "luck". Luck should have nothing to do with success on a test.
You want to be a mediocre teacher, or one that inspires students? You let your kids down by letting them get away with such nonsense. Get serious!

Well I would look at your marks. If you are a good student who occasionally makes jokes in class, I would ask the question to you verbally and if you knew the correct answer then I would mark it correct. Again this depends on your teacher and your relationship with your teacher and your grades. I would expect a teacher to typically mark it wrong though. Maybe you could bring it up before the test is handed back, explain that you were just trying to make him/her laugh. Good Luck..

It isn't a joking matter to joke around with a smart a@@ answer on a test. Get serious and start using the other side of the brain.
Save the jokes for when you are with your friends. I think this one will cost you the question.

It probably would have been better to have put the correct answer AND your clever answer off to the side. It is just going to depend upon the relationship you and your teacher have as to whether you get any credit for it. Good luck.

I would mark the answer incorrect. I would also write in the margin something about the great humor, but no credit for humor in my science class.

simply by fact technology has progressed from guess artwork. medical concept can ultimately develop into medical fact as this is known with the aid of the medical community. technology is unique in this type, simply by fact there at the instant are not the different matters that require approval with the aid of the community formerly an theory turns into fact. Thomas Kuhn wrote approximately this concept, he replaced into an superb medical historian. mockingly I found out of him in my Philosophy path!

You know the "right" answer, but chose the "better" answer. Comedy comes with a price. :)
