Now money will begin to circulate a bit better. The economy should pick up. What do you think? Yes I know.........some of you dooms-dayers are going to say... "INFLATION"... NOT! Only if Wall Street uses it as a justification to raise prices out of proportion to the increase......

mttkd > Any business that can't afford to pay it's employee's a decent wage doesn't need to be a business.

Roadkill > If the business paid a decent wage the employees would buy their own condo.

ZepOne > If Henry Hazlett is/was so smart he should have been appointed to run the world's economy. Just because some fool writes a book and sells it to make money, it doesn't make him God. You need to view some video from the old Mickey Mouse Club. Jiminy Cricket had enough sense to know money has to circulate... NOT trickle down. If a cartoon has enough sense to see it....... you would think the Republicans would.

Not very much. If its really such a great idea why didn't the politicans make the minimum wage $10, 20 or $50.00 per hour. That would really get the money circulating through the economy. Better yet require employers to furnish a car and fuel to each employee, might as well throw in a beach front condo.

Either they are trying to hold back the economy and keep us all broke or maybe the truth is the minimum wage is like posion. Small doses won't do any good but won't kill you, maybe make you sick. But too much and you're dead.

Let me give you some insight on having employees. A person that makes $6.00 an hour actually costs a company around $10.00 an hour to keep (insurances, taxes, workman's comp., etc.)

Now, what do you think the companies are going to do to bring more money in now that the minimum wage has gone up? I can pretty much say that the companies WON'T say "Gee, let's make less money on our products or services".

Now the minimum wage is more, now the cost of living will go up. AND I have also heard of some local lay offs because small businesses can't afford to keep all of their employee's now.

I'm not saying the raise wasn't needed. I'm saying prepare for the effects. More prices will go up.

The economy should pick up? Has it been slow?

Unfortunately, this is how Democrats please the simple minded. You should read about the my of raising the minimum wage from Henry Hazlitt's classic, "Economics in One Lesson" (link to that chapter below.
