I was extatic to see Don Baylor go, Skeptical to see Dusty, now I don't know what to think. I maybe crazy but, what the hell happened to Davey Johnson and why has he fallen of the globe? I hope he's not dead, I'd feel pretty stupid praying all that time that they would find him.

Hard to say with them keeping Larry Rothschild what the starting pitching will be like. BUT!!>>> Lou WILL NOT put up with anything he sees that may be hurting his starting rotation. I think Lou is good for the club and the players. "Next Year" is looking a lot more promising than the previous "next yrs".
As for Davey Johnson. He has has a horrible last couple of years.
I wont go into detail here but you can read about some of it at this link.....

Well I'm glad to see that Dusty is gone!!! I was hoping that they would have got Joe Girardi but I think Lou will do well. He will not put up with any crap like Dusty would!!! With a Healthy D.Lee and adding the players they did it should be a good year. I sure hope Prior and Wood stay healthy!!!! I wish they would have kept Pierre also he is a good lead off hitter!!! Eric is right about Larry Rothschild he needs to go!!! He does ruin starting pitchers!!!

Lou Pinella is a great coach in his own way. It depends on how the Cubs players react to him. They have a great lineup (Soriano, Jones, Lee, Ramirez, Barrett, DeRosa, and Izturis) and a potentially great pitching staff (Zambrano, Prior, Marquis, Wood, and many others). All they need to do is let Lou Pinella do his work and just play the game. If they can do this, they might be able to bring the National League back up to par to the American League, and that way there would be an extremely exciting All Star Game.

Lou was as polar of a change as the sightless Cubs management could muster. They just try to placate the fan base. They know that it is far cheaper to bring in Big name manager after big name manager than bring in big name player after big name player. They seem to get one or two parts right every year, but completely neglect a battered bullpen. More importanly THEY FREAKING KEPT LARRY ROTHSCHILD! I cannot understand how they can let him destroy starter after starter, and still give him a paycheck. Hell, I could have grown men throw towels. Maybe that is just symbollic of the season. The Chicago Cubs Throw The Towel In Early Again.

The Cubs upgraded the best they could. Lou is a good fit for a team with this much promise. He will get the best out of them and they will respect him for that.

Lou is an exceptional manager.. it doesn't matter what else they did in the offseason.. getting Lou was the best thing they could have done.. may take a couple years but he'll get them to the playoffs many years in a row after that..

I like Lou Pinella, he won in CIN and SEA... didn't have much of a chance in NY or Tampa. Cubs can make some decent managers look pretty bad though...

Yeah, with Piniella, Cubs fans will be sitting pretty as far as the manager goes, but they need some more pitching...

Lou is one of the more savy managers there were available. He has a decent team with a lot of promise that could challage for the division.
