Jimmy Carter is a good choice, but I'd say FDR.... This man was very upfront in his struggles and causes he fought for. He may or may not have known about an impending attack on Pearl Harbor. Yet, this man never once waviered on social reform or used the war against the Nazi and Imperial Japan as an excuse... nevermind he cheated on his wife and had interment camps.. I don't think there is one, because as a nation I don't think we could handle the absolute truth in how our nation deals with others and internal affairs.

Equating honesty and politicians is funny.

Bush seems to set a very high standard for behavior and honesty, as well as consistency. His strategies don't waiver, he never calls anyone else names, he rarely publicly criticizes anyone (including those constantly criticizing him), and I've never seen him lose his temper.

I'd like to cast a vote for him, but I have no way of comparing other presidents I've not lived to see.

George Washington. He could have declared himself King or Emporer after serving two terms. Instead, he walked away and let democracy take it's course.

Carter, he even reported that he had sinned because he coveted a woman other than his wife in a dream he had.

not clinton or bush. I would say to his credit Jimmy Carter. It was probably his undoing.
