It really takes a lot to get out of jury duty. You'd think that law enforcement officers would be considered biased and therefore exempt, but even I have to do it.

I am self employed and the business will not function without me. Also I have other employees dependant on my presence for their income. (These are true and has worked several times, also I am permanently exempted now.) Go downtown and open a small business.Cost about $30.00. Note- you will have to do end of year paperwork, regardless of whether your business does anything or not.

If you work, send a letter explaining that your current work schedule doesn't allow time off at this time. The last time I was summoned to appear, I had finals and sent a copy of my schedule back to them letting them know that it was impossible for me to appear at that time. Most judges are understanding of your requests as long as they feel they're valid.

Say you're prejudiced. You're either sexist, or racist, or whatever, or else you already have a really strong opinion on the case (assuming it's been publicized).
Or else if you're a lawyer or a student, you can get out of it as well.
Good luck!

I was called but not picked. Ladies with infants in strollers all seemed to get excused early.

As soon as you go into the court room start yelling,"FRY HIS AZZ"
or you could start twitching and start talking to your alter ego about the execution,(caution,if you do the latter the may think your crazy and hold you)

conscientious objector; if you genuinely find you cannot take part in deciding the fate of someone's future, the court should recognize that-they did with me on both occasions.
