I just heard that John Bonham did this on one of the tracks on Led Zep IV, but do other drummers do it? What's the difference?

Most other drummers can't touch bonham! This includes me... boo!

It's pretty uncommon.

Well, you could always try! ;) Experimenting might help you work out if you can make interesting beats whether or not a specific technique exists.

I'm not sure how common it is though...First I've heard of it. Perhaps 4 sticks simply means that Bonham simply overdubbed another drum track to the song?
You could also always work with a drum machine, where hands don't get in the way of anything!

What is the point? Two sticks sounds clean and normal. Four is just asking for trouble!
