I'm originally from Asia and I've been living and studying in both countries.

From my personal experience I have to admit that ppl in the UK have a better sense of style. They are more trendy and care a lot more about their appearance than the ppl in the States. What Americans concentrate on is wearing comfortable clothes other than being trendy. For example, most of the clothes in the States are of cotten texture, while in the UK there are more varieties and some might not be as comfy but they'd still wear 'em cause those clothes make 'em look good. Even my American friends say the Brits are so much posher.

Another thing I've noticed is here in Britain almost nobody wears flare jeans but skinny jeans and girls never wear baggy jumpers, and ppl all care so much about their hairstyles no matter guys or girls, you find those mullet, mohican, spikey hair n all that on guys, maybe that make ppl gay but I really enjoy looking at the stylish guys here (a good number of them are homosexual down in London mind you). They also tend to wear simple colour combinations as well, you barely spot very bright colors on their outfit, for example, bright pink, green, yellow etc. are generally avoided. You find a lot of black and white stripes clothes which is kinda cool.

As for the shoes, ppl in the UK love those converse, vans lots, especially the teenage chavs:P

But I do love American's casual attitudes and I think sometimes they way you dress up somehow reveal the kind of people you are.

well, sorry sunny California, but the UK is definitely ahead of US. Uk's are more elegant, edgy, classy. US is great also, talk about the girls from SATC, but the "Zoe" Look is pretty wasted already and sometimes looks just like a big mess. While you're "safe" in the US with some nice Jeans and T-Shirt, the Europeans do have an individual "something", and that's what fashion is all about!!

its depends i would USA for the fact in certain parts they really take care of themselves better than in the UK, but overall UK because where are so much closer to other great fashion capitals i.e, Milan, Paris so we are exposed to more variety and alot earlier than the USA. But i love America New york Miami LA all the way!

the uk because we make are own trends where as usa seam 2 just take what they see of the cat walk and there idols but no ones gonner look at people who all look the same everybody in the uk has their own style and dont care what people think about it its the only way to be

It depends where in the US you're comparing to, cuz everywhere is so different. New York and LA have great fashion scenes. But middle America, the suburbs, etc are full of people wearing clothes from Wal Mart- dungarees, t-shirts with hideous appliques, and people wear holiday sweaters with no sense of irony, socks with sandals, women with hairsprayed fringes/bangs still exist... It aint pretty! I've lived in Orlando and believe me, there's some things you would just NEVER see in England.

I'd day you are more likely to get well dressed people in the UK, but there is plenty of them in America too, you just have to go to the right places.

~As a Canadian, I feel that the UK has a way different look at culture, I feel that they are #1 when it comes to fashion. All the Famous Couture Fashion Paris, London, Italy, Etc. so I would say UK wins!~

UK for sure! They are about 2 years ahead of the US. I lived in London for about 6months and saw the craziest style. Then I came back to the US and girls are still wearing Ugg boots and mini skirts. UGH!
