When I go to message boards I often like to express philosophical opinions rather than just giving the facts. More often than not posters violently attack what I said and will be very rude. This happens constantly and they make me feel like I commited a crime. Some boards will tell me I can't say those things and kick me out of the board. I don't understand this behavior. What is the problem with someone wanting to express philosophical opinions?

It is often attacked because the ones doing the attacking are the ones who can't understand the intellegent question you're asking.

Everyone has opinions--I think that people are rude sometimes because they feel threatened in some way by what you're saying. The anonymity of this forum gives some of them a feeling of entitlement & power & that they can get away w/ being rude. Then again some people think they know everything & that everyone else is stupid/ignorant.

Because in this politically correct day and age, everyone is so touchy! People need to just relax and stop verbally lynching anyone who expresses an opinion that doesn't match the far left liberal views that we're slowly being brainwashed with.

Because an opinion by someone with an above average IQ who is able to defend their opinion knowledgeably is not allowed on the internet. You're just seen as a know-it-all prick trying to force opinions onto others.
Apparently, you are only allowed to express an opinion if it is wildly undefended and "TyPpeD LiEk dDiS!!!!"

because anonimity and cruelty often run hand in hand... Go to Mardi gras sometimes and watch girls and guys get assualted by "the crowd"...
