It always was and always will be. The universe had no beginning and it will have no end. It is just that human beings need to think of things having a beginning and end because it makes it easier for people to grasp and deal with things that are finite and definitive.

I have hear as old as 20 billion and as young as 10 billion, but mostly hear 13.5 billion
