If the Raiders don't get Troy Smith or Brady Quinn, the Lions will most likely take a variety of players such as JaMarcus Russell out of LSU, Dwayne Jarrett out of USC or Quinn.
To me, Russell would be the best option for the Lions. He has the chance to become a franchise quarterback for any team in the league. He has the speed, strength and arm to become one of the greats. Just think of a better Daunte Culpepper. The Lions will be looking to draft a quarterback because although Kitna is a great leader, he is not the future of the franchise.
Jarrett would also be a solid draft pick, too. In the Rose Bowl, he torched the Wolverines, one of the best secondaries in the NCAA. Jarrett would definitely be a good complement to Roy Williams. I doubt that the Lions would take him because they haven't had much luck with wideouts in the past. (Ex: Charles Rogers, Mike Williams...)
Quinn is another possibility. He finished third in the Heisman Voting and the Lions would no doubt want to have him.
As for Smith, after that horrible National Championship game, who would want him?

The lions would be crazy not to take RB Adrian Peterson. They have luck with running backs from Oklahoma Universities. If they don't take him it will be like The Texans not taking Vince Young or Bush last year. Why does evryone think that Troy Smith would go in the first round for?

If they don't get Troy or Brady then Jamarcus Russell. THey are screwed at quaterback and have the best wide reviever squad in the NFL second to only the Colts. Any team with Mike WIlliams (USC) as 2nd string backup is f***** the craziest wide out squad ever. they need a QB, a good one.

Brady Quinn would be the more logical choice. He is the best player already to adjust to the NFL due to the West coast offense being run at ND.
