I have become bored with many of my current hobbies and need to find something new and exciting that doesn't cost too much money to occupy some free time. Anyone have any suggestions. I like music, reading, crafty things, etc. Thanks for any suggestions.

Go to your local nursing home or assisted living center and do some volunteer work. It doesn't cost anything, and the rewards are great! Talk with the activity director to come up with an activity they need help with...........one that you would enjoy. Maybe doing crafts with the residents. Or conducting trivia, or an exercise class. You might help with parties, call bingo, or hold a sing-along. The possibilities are endless. There's nothing better you can do with your spare time, and although you will be doing for them, you will find that you will be the one that will benefit most from the experience. :)

Have you thought about sewing? There's always something to make and you won't get bored once you learn how to sew.My grandma taught me how many years ago and I've been making things since I was a teenager.I am 61 yrs old now and have my own craft/sewing room.I'm no professional but I have sold lots of things I made.If you like what you do then you will never get bored, whether it be sewing or whatever you choose as a new hobby.Mine just happens to be sewing. All you need is patience and determination and you can do anything your heart desires.Best of luck with whatever you decide to do."Busy Hands Are Happy Hands"

Crocheting. I have done it for about 8 years now. You can take it with you any where & work on small peices or large things Like I made a Dress, blanket, bonnet, Bib & Booties with a matching hanger for my new born neice. I have sold a baby blanket, & made stuff for all my friends & family that has had a baby since I started. It is realaxing cause you kinda tune stuff out & think about what your doing. Here are a couple of sites to help you start. If you decide on this for a hobby you can email me for tips or any questions I'll help how ever I can. Good luck on your hobby serch.

I like paper so I make cards. Right now I'm making cloth covered books. All you need is a 12 X 16" piece of fabric, a cardboard box to cut apart, a piece of cardstock and a few pieces of plain white paper. Soon I'm going to start embossing, as I just bought a light box and stylus.
