I had the cutest white dress that was stained with everything, self tanning lotion, smoke, grease. SO I sent it with my mom to some lady at her work and it came back whiter than it was when I bought it. She used TOILET BOWL CLEANER. It was a really thing eyelet material and it didn't damage it at all. I don't know what kind or how much or if she soaked it or what but if nothing else I would try that.

Is the shirt bleachable? If it is, then put the shirt in a small foot soak tub with 1/2 gallon of cold water and 1 tablespoon of bleach. Swish it around for a little bit to make sure that all of the shirt is wet. Let it sit for 15 minutes. Check the whiteness. If not gone, check it every 10 minutes thereafter until you are satisfied with the color. Then when you do an all white load, you can put in blueing from a sewing store and follow the directions. The blueing will make the shirt very bright white. Good luck!

Hopefully it was not dried in the dryer, this sets the stain. If it was stained during the wash, the grease looking spots could be the fabric softener from the wash. Should just wash out if this is what it is. If not, try this
Color-Safe Bleach recipe
This bleach is for delicate colors and synthetic fabrics. It reduces yellowing in silks and woolens.

2 cups hydrogen peroxide
14 cups water

Mix ingredients and store in a plastic one-gallon container. Soak items to be cleaned in this solution for 10 to 30 minutes.

Look into Rit Dye Remover. It removes all color from natural fibers. Just make sure that the product can be safely used on that type of fabric.

If it's a grease stain, I can't help you.

If the stain doesn't come out, you can always dye it a darker color. I saved my favorite pink sweater that was washed with blue jeans (stupid husband) by dying it navy blue using Rit dye.
