i think thats a decision we have to make every day
every morning
when we wake up we decide if we wan to go and conquer the world or wheter we want to stop trying and give up

at least thats how i am
i have to ask myself am i going to conquer the world today or give up all hopes

i think people who choose to get up and go are motivated by their loved ones (at least thats my reason for "going")
the courage isnt really courage but rather a duty
you can choose to fulfill that duty, to go on for your family friends
or u can choose to ignore ure duty and give up

Long, long time ago in a faraway country i heard a very simple song. A blue balloon flew away from little girls hands on her birthday. She cried when the balloon diapered in the blue sky. The life went on but there was always reason to cry. She cried when she couldn’t find a boyfriend, she cried when her husband left her and now she, old women, is crying because her life is gone. At this moment the balloon came back and still was blue.
This song really made my cry. I imagined myself being old without reason to live. But life went on. Ones I was watching Olympic Games on TV. An Ethiopian athlete was running barefoot to win gold medal in marathon event. I thought it was really cool and I decided to run marathon one day.
Life went on and I forgot the song and the Ethiopian athlete. In 2004 when I was heavily overworked, overweight and with other health problems I suddenly remembered my childhood dream. And the desire to accomplish my childhood dream came and gave me the motivation to first walk then jog 4 times a week for eight months.
SO the answer to your question is “desire”. Desire is the only thing which will motivate you to wake up every day and GO. People have different desires. Desire to have fast car, big house or lots of money will motivate them to go out there and work like slaves. Most common desire is the desire to experience freedom. You buy a car to experience freedom of motion, house to be king in your own castle or you run marathon to free yourself from the limits of your health.
Tomorrow I’m going to drive to Phoenix where on Sunday I will run my 5th marathon. But this is not the only thing I live for. Today I have many desires and not much time to work on them.
