H. WAGNER

1982

Two great players. I would say no. There were some tremendous classes the first few years after the Hall of Fame first opened.

The class of 1936 features the most popular athlete in American history. Babe Ruth's name is still house hold and he has been out of the game for over 70 years.

A lot of people to this day have no idea who Robin Yount is. And they often get him mixed up with Paul Molitor. It's so true.

Do you think they will be talking about Robin Yount 70 years from now. NO!!! Thank you come again!!

EXCUSE ME!!!!!!!!!!

Nolan Ryan, Robin Yount and George Brett were in one class.

I suppose 7 career no-hitters doesn't count, right? Or 5, 714 strikeouts?

Leading the major leagues in hits in the 1980's (yes, the whole decade) doesn't count? Nor 3,142 hits? MVP awards at two different positions?

How about being the best situational hitter of your times? 3,154 hits? career .305 BA and .956 OPS?

Quoting the class of '36 isn't really fair here. That was the inaugural class of the Hall of Fame, and they had more than 40 years worth of players from whom to choose.

Next time, before you pronouce something as the best ever of whatever, you might want to read a bit of the history of "whatever".

This would be second to me, only behind the 1999 class of Nolan Ryan, Robin Yount and George Brett. While Ripkin and Gwynn are amazing players, I think 1999 takes the cake.

with somewhat of success. He become an staggering hitter and merits to be contained in the hall of repute for it. Being a DH could no longer count number adverse to him. it truly is been a position for fairly a lot 40 years; and it truly is no longer that he wasn't okay to container, he basically wasn't requested to. How can he be punished for that?

The class of 1936 is and probably will be the best ever.

in this era, yeah it's gotta be.

Gwynn woulda had the highest batting average since Ty Cobb, if not for the baseball strike, and we all know what Ripken did.
