Get THE hang of it means that someone is learning something new and they don't understand it or can't do it, but gradually they are getting more comfortable with it.

Example: It was hard for the girl to learn how to knit, but now she's beginning to get the hang of it.

get the hang of it simply means you will learn. example you will get the hang of american slang soon enough .
