The Holocaust without question, because it was a purposeful and systematic plan to exterminate an entire race of people - genocide on an industrial scale.

Slavery was a terrible thing too, but at least the purpose was to keep the individual alive so they could work. Much is made of the mortality rate of slaves in the Atlantic crossings, but this seems to have been around a 13% death rate, which is actually a little better than the average mortality rate for a typical ships crew during that time !

Hhm. They are both repugnant.

Slavery in the US went on for hundreds of years. It still happens in some parts of the world, or so I'm told. The live of a slave is misery. However, slaves are allowed to have- baby slaves. And in the US, some slaves bought themselves.

The holocaust was much shorter. Call the start 1932, and you get about 13 years of persecution leading up to genocide. The life expectancy of a Jew was virtually nil. They could not buy freedom- all their worldly goods were confiscated.

So I'd call the holocaust worse, if only because the percentage of survivors was so much lower.
