I have used a temp agency before, most recently with Office Team, there are positive and negative sides to being a temp. Negativly, the temp agency charges the company you work for a fee. So for each hour you work the temp agency is also making money, probally half as much as you, which makes me question if I got a similar position with another company on my own could I be making more money?? Sometimes your assignment at a company could be 6 mos or longer so your investing all this time in this company that could all of a sudden decide they no longer need you. More on the positive side you could get a lot of experience in a variety of settings, in all business there is a need for administrative staff, which I think is the best way to get the basics of a company. It could also help you decide on a career path, you could be doing administrative work for a law firm and one day decide you passionately want to become a lawyer. My story is probally uncommon, but I was working my first and only assignment at an accounting firm for busy tax season, I was processing returns(which actually had nothing to do with numbers) but it was alot of new stuff to learn, it was very tough at first but I stuck with it, did a great job, April 17th rolls around and they no longer have a need for me I was very upset I couldn't stay but still moved on, went back to a previous job, then a few months later I got a call from the accounting firm, they had an open position and were really impressed with me and wanted be to come in for another interview. I got the position and have been there for almost 6 months it is an amazing company, there missions and values are above & beyond what is expected. I can honestly say I love my job, and I would not be where I am right now if it wasnt for a temp agency.

Like all things in life there are the good, the bad and the ugly!
Some agencies hold them self to higher standards and depending on the type of worker they supply has a great deal to do with it in some cases. some agencies deal in Temp top perm only and some mixed.
Those that aim to deal with mainly temp to perm often are happy to see their hard honest and good Lil worker get hired and will be sad too as you are no longer theirs. It all depends on how you take your job.
Do they really care about you? Arte they honest and reliable? Same rules that they use to judge you you can use on them!!
If you are in Ontario, Canada check out the below site. Depending on type of work you want they maybe able to steer you in the right direction.
