As in Conway's Game of Life (the mathematical game) or as in The Game of Life (The game where you spin a spinner, go round the board, and follow instructions on the spaces you land on)?
If the former, in the grid each 'cell' is adjacent to eight other cells, each cell can be alive or dead. Living cells die if less than 2 or more than 3 adjacent cells are living, and survive if 2 or 3 adjacent cells are living. Dead cells become alive if exactly 3 adjacent cells are living.
In the latter... Each player spins the spinner in turn, moves the amount of spaces indicated, and follows the instructions on the space they land on. More specific rules would be awkward to give since they come out with a new edition every 5-10 years or so to help update the game to modernity. (In older versions you got paid when landing or passing over a Pay Day space, in the latest version I've played you get paid every turn, for example)

The game of Life is really easy to play.
You take your game piece (which is a car) around the board.
You can either go to college or start work right away.
You stop at certain points in your life: like getting married, have kids, buy a house, and retire.
The winner is the first person to reach the finish line first and who has the most money.
