i need to register a .ca domain and i want to find someone who does the domain and hosting packages together like go daddy does, is there such a place in canada that does this?

I do not know any of the canadian registrars but there are tons of hosting companies in Canada.

I have a friend up there that does webhosting. His site is www.palb.com. An account with him would let you buy, manage, and host a website and domain name.

You can also check out www.enom.com the second largest domain company. They do .ca extentions, hosting and the whole bit.

Godaddy, has the best rates and you need to use a Canadian registrar. You just go to their web site choose the domain name you want and make sure that you include the ".ca" suffix and if it available it is yours once you pay for it.

Here is a free domain and free hosting. I do not think you can get the .ca though.
