You can use your checking account instead of a paypal account for your selling fees.
I've been selling on ebay for a little over 2 years and I still remember how hard it was just starting out. You can get a free ebay success kit that has everything you need to get started right at: http://smart-money-help.com/free-ebay-kit . The information in that kit will answer every question you have...and a lot more. I highly recommend you get it before you get too far into the ebay thing.

You should be able to.
However, if you have PayPal then more people are likely to purchase your items on eBay. This is because if you don't have PayPal, then potential buyers will think you are scamming them. PayPal allows you to send money the the seller electronically, not by mail. For instance, if you're selling a Nintendo Wii for $300, someone might send you the check for 300, but not get a Wii in return. Basically, having PayPal allows people to trust you more. And so you can trust other people.
Thanks!

Sure you can but you really should get that verified as soon as possible. Most ebayers prefer the use of Paypal as compared to other methods of payment.
In order to sell Ebay may require a Credit Card of some sort though.

Sure. Do 7 day auctions and they will close long after you are verified.

Yes, after being a victim of identity theft, I NEVER use paypal or credit cards...if they won't take checks, MO's, or cashiers checks, I won't do business with them.
