My sister and I were adopted when I was seven and she was eight. I knew my biological parent but have never had the urge to meet them again. Trust, loyalty, honor, respect, love, self esteem I learned these from my parents now. I know who I am therefore I need not seek my past. that is where I can from and i am proud and happy of who I have become. My sister she died of cancer at the age of 25

I was adopted by my father, I met my biological father when I was 13. I also met my 2 brothers, sister and step mom. He acted in proper with me so I do not want to have anything to do with him ever again but I love my siblings and stepmother very much! It is hard to visit them when he is around but I ignore him just to be able to spend time with them. I was never very curious about him but he wanted to meet me so I said it was OK, I do not think it was a bad decision just disappointed things turned out the way they did after I met him. I hope your experience with your parents was different and had a happy ending.

My husband adopted my children. Their biological father is a druggie and I don't want them growing up knowing that kind of lifestyle. Not to mention he abused me psyically and emotionally until we divorced when the children were 4 & 1. His mother is a beast too. I tried to let her have visits with them and she totally took advantage of it and had him around my children without my permission and against the law. Workin on forgiveness there!! We now live 4 hours away from the wretched people...My daughter, now 10, thinks she looks and acts just like her "dad" and in all aspects he is her only dad. The only thing missing is blood and thats not a factor unless they need a transfusion and thats where I come in. They love their adopted dad more than anything in the world. They are now 13 & 10.

I was adopted when I was about 1 month old. I met one of my half-sisters which was okay, but nothing else came of it. She was afraid of hurting her adoptive parents that didn't know she was searching. I haven't met or contacted anyone else because from what I have been told they don't want to be contacted, and I am not sure where they are. My adoptive parents where great & supportive about my search when they where alive. I don't have too much solid information because my records are sealed and I haven't been able to get them opened.
