did anyone see what can only be discribed as a comet at dusk?

i live in scotland and it was in the south western sky very low it looked like it had a tail

I would like to thank you for asking your question, because until I read it, I was unaware that the comet had brightened so much! No I have something to do tomorrow evening!

Indeed, that was Comet McNaught (even has a Scot name for you)...and you were quite fortunate to see it. Within two days it will be gone for observers in the northern hemisphere.
