I've posted ads on dating websites before, where I clearly state that I am interested in female companionship. For some reason I always get a lot more gay men telling me they want to "turn me out."

Why do these gays refuse to respect my sexuality? I do not go into lesbian chat rooms and hit on the women there.

No...... those are just desparate losers. Not every gay person is a desparate loser just like every straight person isn't either.

No. But some gay guys have a fantasy about straight guys. It's not that they really think they can turn them gay, it's that for whatever reason, they find the idea of getting a straight guy in bed to be really appealing. Of course, it never works out, because real straight guys don't do this. If a "straight" guy does it, he's bi or gay and just hasn't accepted it. But, it remains a fantasy, just like how straight guys often fantasize about lesbians.

Unfortunately, gay people and straight people are all the same, meaning that they're all people, and some people don't respect others' boundaries. It's too bad that some gay guys feel the need to contact you despite your clear statement that you're not into that. This isn't a gay guy thing, it's just a people thing. You might not go into lesbian chatrooms and hit on the women there, but I'm sure that plenty of straight guys do, and I've even seen women who wanted to "convert" gay men. The later is really rare, but it does happen. Some people just want what they know they can never have, and delude themselves into believing they can have it. The guys who are hitting on you are doing just that, but it's not specifically because they're gay. It's just because they're stupid, like half the people out there.

You are always going to encounter people both gay and straight who do not know how to respect others in any area. Take it with a grain of salt and move on. You do not have to respond to these men at all so don't let them get to you.

I think gay guys are more blunt then woman... If you weren't interested in guys I don't think you would care enough to post this question. I think you are curious as to what it's like being with a man, and if I am wrong, then I apologize... it's not that they don't respect your lifestyle, they may just think you are cute and try and be slick and make a move on you. Good luck though!

Can straight people be converted?

I don't go to straight chat rooms telling that being gay is good, why do straight people come here telling me that being gay is bad?

NO. not all gay people try and convert a straight person to be gay. Just like not all religious people try and convert non-religious people to get a religion. Everyone is different gay or religious or whatever they happen to be. It is the person not the way of life.

Ever seen the drunk pudgy businessman (complete with wedding ring) at the conference mixer? He thinks he is God's gift to to ALL, and hits on women young enough to be his daughter. His comes ons are as subtle as a blow to the head with a hammer.

My point? Creeps come in all sizes, shapes, and sexual orientations. These people have a hard time with respect. It is their personality being demonstrated through their sexuality. It is not an expression of all people who belong to their particular sexual preference.

I have many gay and bi friends... none have ever tried to 'convert' me. Probably because (unlike these fellows) they are respectful people.

Stick to your guns. If you're straight, you're straight. I am a woman and had a couple of lesbians try and get me to leave my husband, of course they hated men and wanted me to do the same. I had to tell them to hit the road. By that time, it was just creepy, you know?

See here on yahoo Gay people are the ones who aren't "Respected so to say" so for a straight person to show a fault of some gay people "No one HERE mind you" I doubt you'll get too many answers. Gays are Constantly the victims of Abuse.

Yet I can't blame the white man for my problems anymore. (Sarcasm) I'm playing.

But, hey I could be wrong.

I have to admit though I like Tab's answer.

Not all Gay men are interested in straight guys. I find them boring and uninteresting. Perhaps if you are hot looking, some Gay men can't help themselves by flirting. Who knows. Basically, all Gay men do not act as one person - we are all individuals. Just as there are Gay men who only find other Gay men attractive, there are Gay men who only find Straight guys attractive. My advice - ignore them, they are being rude and uncouth.
