My birthday is comming up and i was thinking about asking for a ipod nano BUT I'm really not sure how the whole itunes work. Are itunes the only thing you can put on an ipod?? Do you have to pay for every song you want to download?? Also can you download a song from anywhere or only a specific place?? Thanks for the input guys

it is .99 a songunless you already have it, and a cd is like 10 bucks ask for 1 there awsome check out apple and support it will tell you evrythin

Itunes aren't the only thing you can put on an ipod. You can go to the store and buy a CD or any file but, I know that you can't put some songs on it, for example, I'm pretty sure that if you do the unlimited song downloads on Yahoo for $5 a month, that you can't put it on there. You should just check with the programs because it will say what is compatible and not. Yes, you have to pay for every song you download off itunes, .99 cents, or with tax 1.07.

if you have a cd, you can import it to your itunes. If you download from limewire, or some other program or website, you can use those music files. And if you want to, you can pay $.99 from the itunes store. Itunes will take any music from anywhere, you just have to send it to itunes.

Yes you do have to pay for every song you download, you can download anything from anywhere and it will go to Itunes and then you can download it. No problem

You can rip music from CDs or you can use other music just as long as it is a type of file supported by the iPod. You aren't stuck buying music from iTunes.

i have an ipod and it is great I have downloaded every cd I had before I had an ipod on it and I have purchased songs from itunes, yahoo misic and places like walmart.com and they are all on my ipod
