I understand what you mean. I have worked retail in the past and there were some rude people, but the most stupid people were the ones who stole. They would steal things and think that we did not notice them, then act surprised when they got caught. I have noticed that people that have worked retail or work retail are usually the best customers.

There is no law that prevents stupid or rude people from reproducing. I truely wish there were. I think it would be good law. Give them an IQ test before they are allowed to get pregnant. Wait...that will only work for women, so what kind of IQ test do we give men? I know, we could give them an IQ test in about 6th grade or so and if they don't pass...just neuter them. There ya go. I think EVERYONE should be required to work at the customer return desk doing customer service for at least a year.

Because as a society, we have gotten so caught up in PC and entitlements, that nobody is held accountable anymore. Why smarten up when you can sue somebody else?
In my great-grandparents' day, if you poked your eye out with a screwdriver, it was your own damn fault. Today, well, SOMEBODY should have put a warning label on it, and it must be their fault.
Used to be, if you acted stupid, there were consequences. These days, you can get sued for harassment, racism, discrimination, you name it, if you point out to somebody he is being an idiot.

I was a firefighter 10 years I do know what you are talking about.
Trying to explain to people they need to get out of a burning building made me a believer in Darwin awards after that.

The customer often believes he or she has the right to be rude
because they are spending their money. The kid in his or her first job behind the counter is an easy target.
The general public are often poorly educated in the need for good manners when purchasing.
