If you've ever opened a PS2 you'll know there's a brown-ish ribbon cable (or whatever it is) connected to the rear of the laser. Can anyone tell me exactly where it's connected to because I took mine out yesterday to repair a different fault and now the PS2 won't read discs and I expect it's because the ribbon cable isn't properly connected! Any ideas? It's the end that attaches to the laser, not the end that attaches to the PS2's internal workings, for want of a better phrase.
I suppose I should have checked before pulling it out.

Yes I messed it up. Mind you, I have fix it twice before so I'm not entirely ignorant! In my defense it's an old one and it doesn't read blue discs properly anyway, and yes, I am getting new one. I just wondered how to fix this one, that's all! Yes I know I'm a dopey cow.

our playstation did the same thing and we just blew it out with an air compressor and now it works just fine...sometimes the laser itself gets dusty and you need to blow the dust off with air don't touch it!!!
