I have a 1988 Linclon cent NOT coated with copper. It is just zinc. The copper has not been chemically removed. I did that to see what it looks like and my find is authentic. I can't find it on e-bay or anywhere else. Anyone ever seen one?

1982 was the last year for the .950 copper,.050 tin cent. The core after that was 99.2% zinc,.08 copper with a plating of pure copper. There are many was to get the copper plating off with out acid. Putting one on a wood stove works quite well. Different acids also work differently. one struck on a blank that had not been plated would really stick out in a bin of regular issues and there would have to be more than one. There has been no real ones reported as yet as far as I know, but I am not an expert on error coins. I have not seen any listed, or written about in any of the coin papers I receive weekly. See a dealer first and see if he thinks it is worth sending to one of the services, to be authenticated. Unless authenticated it has no value because it can be faked so easily.
